QATAR. A three-month promotion involving Qatar Duty Free and Swiss watch company Frédérique Constant has resulted in a sales surge of +176% year-on-year for the brand. The latest campaign ran from May until July.

Every customer who purchased a Frédérique Constant watch was entered into a raffle draw to win a watch made by the brand, generating strong interest, said the retailer. Frédérique Constant was introduced at Qatar Duty Free in November 2009 and has since become the fastest growing watch brand in the offer, the retailer added.

Qatar Duty Free Senior Vice President Keith Hunter said: “After a previous promotion earlier this year we were confident of achieving success [with this campaign], although I must admit that the results have surpassed all expectations.

“Year to date, there has been an increase of +121% in sales of this brand. Frédérique Constant watches are very popular with our customers and the brand has managed to carve a niche for itself in the Qatar Duty Free watch assortment.

“Maintaining a wide collection of Frédérique Constant watches in our offering is a part of our strategy in the immediate future as we gear up to refurbish and expand our watch area in the existing airport. Frédérique Constant is now amongst our top five watch brands and we have high expectations for it.”

Prices for the brand range from US$470 to US$5,600 at Doha International Airport.
