QATAR. Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has revealed what it believes represents a “renaissance in airport dining” at the new Hamad International Airport. QDF manages the food & beverage programme – comprising more than 30 outlets across 15,000sq ft – under a variety of models, from direct operations to joint ventures and concessions.
Among the offer are several exclusive concepts as well as some making their first appearance at an airport. QDF Senior Vice President Keith Hunter explained that the retailer, owned by airport owner and operator Qatar Airlines, had built an environment that promotes “high-quality, healthy and authentic cuisine, matched with efficient and exceptional service”.
Hunter explained: “Starting from a blank sheet of paper, we have created entirely new concepts to offer our passengers a truly enjoyable and innovative experience, and to provide them with unlimited choices and authentic cuisine.”
Among the concepts is the Jamocha Café, developed by QDF. The outlet uses the finest ingredients in its menu – including organically grown coffee from South America – and can adapt its selection of snacks and drinks rapidly based on the profile of passengers passing through the airport.
