JORDAN. Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) operator Airport International Group is highlighting accolades and initiatives in 2024 across operations, customer experience, environmental sustainability and community development.
The airport served 8,798,595 passengers throughout the year, a -4.4% decrease from 2023. December passenger traffic rose +10.6% year-on-year.
As reported, Airport International Group was honoured by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein with the Silver Jubilee Medal in recognition of invaluable contributions to the service of Jordan, particularly local communities.
Additionally, the Government of Jordan granted Airport International Group a seven-year extension of its Build-Operate-Transfer concession agreement until 2039, supporting continued high standards and future traffic growth.
Airport International Group CEO Nicolas Deviller commented: “Looking back on 2024, we take immense pride in the milestones achieved by Airport International Group and QAIA.

QAIA was acknowledged for its passenger satisfaction, earning the title of ‘Best Airport by Size and Region: Middle East’ for the second consecutive year and the eighth time overall in the ACI World Airport Service Quality 2023 Global Traveller Survey.
The airport also improved connectivity with new direct routes to destinations including London Stansted, Manchester, Berlin, AlUla and Moscow.
The airport attained a 4-Star Airport Rating in the Skytrax World Airport Audit and renewed Level 3 of the ACI World Airport Customer Experience Accreditation.
QAIA also advanced its 4.8MWac photovoltaic solar farm project, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, making it one of the largest solar-powered airports in the Middle East and North Africa region.
