EUROPE. Newrest has won a five year contract to provide in-flight catering and retail services for UK headquartered regional airline Flybe.
Multi-sector caterer Newrest will deliver a full end-to-end retail solution across the Flybe network, including stock purchase, inventory management, packing, logistics, menu and retail development.
Flybe said it had conducted an extensive tendering process, but had been “impressed with the innovative and efficient service” provided by Newrest’s UK in-flight division at London City airport, where it has been servicing Flybe’s aircraft since the airline commenced operations there last year.
“This, coupled with Newrest’s increasing regional presence with an improved distribution model means that we can be assured of efficient UK coverage across all Flybe bases,” said Flybe Chief Commercial Officer Paul Simmons. “Newrest has clearly demonstrated that they are the right partner for Flybe in this key area of our customer offering as we accelerate our expansion.”
Newrest UK’s Peter Berkeley said: “Our newly established infrastructure allows us to reach 14 UK airports with a robust and consistent operation. We have worked closely with Flybe to create a solution that provides significant savings both in terms of wastage and hard equipment.”
The on board partnership between Flybe and Newrest became effective on 1 July 2015.
