Rémy Cointreau unveils exclusive Fine Champagne Cognac series

Limited edition: only 7,000 numbered bottles of Carte Blanche n°1 have been created

Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail, in partnership with DFS Group, has unveiled Carte Blanche à Baptiste Loiseau, the first in a new collection of limited edition Fine Champagne Cognac from the House of Rémy Martin. It is available exclusively at DFS, Singapore Changi Airport.

Baptiste Loiseau, the Cellar Master of the House of Rémy Martin, was appointed in 2014 at the age of 34. During his training alongside his predecessor Pierrette Trichet, Loiseau tasted every eau-de-vie that had been set aside by previous cellar masters for their ‘exceptional’ ageing potential.

Loiseau chose to dedicate his first Carte Blanche edition to one particular cask from the Gensac-la-Pallue cellar that he felt “truly embodied the spirit of the House”, revealing notes of lilac and nutmeg. According to Rémy, the “remarkable” long finish, with intense aromas of leather, incense and black tea, has given life to the Carte Blanche à Baptiste Loiseau Cognac.

The eaux-de-vie were bottled at the percentage proof occurring naturally in their cask to preserve their original attributes and, according to the brand, to create a Cognac of “exceptional aromatic strength and finesse”.

Rémy Martin Limited Edition Carte Blanche n°1 is presented in a “traditional yet contemporary” ‘Charentes’ bottle and encased in an elegant coffret.

Only 7,000 numbered bottles of Carte Blanche n°1 have been created and are available now exclusively at DFS, Singapore Changi Airport, at a recommended price of US$400.

From 1 June, Carte Blanche n°1 will be rolled out in DFS stores at Hong Kong International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, New York John F. Kennedy International Airport and San Francisco International Airport, where it will remain exclusive to DFS until the end of October when distribution will be extended to selected domestic markets.

DFS Group Senior Vice President Wines, Spirits and Tobacco Brooke Supernaw commented: “DFS has a long history of cultivating and curating exceptional products, so we were thrilled to partner with Rémy Cointreau to bring our customers first access to the extraordinary Rémy Martin Carte Blanche à Baptiste Loiseau. Baptiste Loiseau’s dedication to creating a unique blend of the best eaux-de-vie of the House of Rémy Martin has led to a Cognac steeped in heritage that is sure to delight. We look forward to introducing visitors to our DFS stores in Asia and North America over the next six months to this new expression and are confident it will not disappoint.”

Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail Managing Director Peter Sant added: “Rémy Martin is one of the best-loved brands of Cognac in the world and has over many generations established an enthusiastic fan base, particularly in Asia. Today’s consumers value heritage, tradition and authenticity, as did their forebears, but they covet also the new, the unusual, the exclusive. We are excited to work with DFS on the exclusive launch of this special limited edition, Carte Blanche n°1, the first expression from our new Cellar Master at the House of Remy Martin, Baptiste Loiseau.”
