GERMANY. Belgian airport catering company Restair will operate six catering outlets at the new terminal of Hamburg International Airport in northern Germany.
The five-year agreement signed between Restair and the airport authorities has an option for a two-year extension.
The outlets will be opened in the Spring of 2005, when the construction of the new terminal two will be completed. Elsewhere in Hamburg Airport, the catering will continue to be operated by Germany company Wöllhaf GastroService (with Bistro Galeria, Blue Corner, Blue Sky, Café / Bressler Menu, Café Treff, Dock 3, Europa Buffet, Fly In, Globe Bar, Last Minute Food Center/Bressler Menu and Pier 1 Bistro) in addition to a Caviar House outlet.
Hamburg Airport is well underway with a US$400 million investment programme, the HAM21 Extension Project, which includes construction of the new terminal (pictured), a parking lot for 2,200 vehicles and new access roads. It handled 9.5 million passengers in 2003, down from a record-high 10 million the airport served in 2002.
Restair is a subsidiary of Belgian catering group Carestel, which provides catering services at Brussels International Airport, London City Airport (Marché Frais, Meridian Line, Yeager’s Bar Café Lounge, Trattoria/Seafood), Stuttgart Airport in Germany, two airports in Denmark and five airports in France.
