US. It was celebration time at Boston Logan International Airport on Tuesday as BAA Boston unveiled an array of new retail and food & beverage concessions within its Airmall complex.
BAA Boston and Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) promised the revamped offer would “dramatically enhance the passenger experience” with the new concessions in Terminal B (the American Airlines terminal). The new-look commercial offer is the culmination of a two-year US$33 million airport development project.

The new concessions are “the crown jewel” of the Airmall, said BAA Boston Vice President Mike Caro |
From 30 September through to 2 October retailer and food & beverage operators marked the opening with a three-day “˜bonanza’ of discounts and special offers for passengers.
Massport Airport Concessions Manager Sal Amico said: “Travellers form their first impressions of Boston and the region when they visit Logan International. A dynamic concessions program is crucial, and these new concessions in Terminal B/American Airlines will certainly add to an already high-quality program within the Airmall.”
As reported previously, BAA Boston said that passengers are already responding positively to the changes. Per-passenger spend in the terminal prior to the start of the project stood at US$7.42, it said. But in August 2008 a per-passenger spend of US$10.80 was recorded, an increase of more than +45% during the gradual transformation of concessions.
