Swiss herb confectionery specialist Ricola is building its brand in the Asia Pacific region following positive sales of its pocket-size packaging.
The brand said its success in Asia Pacific has been driven by the travel shopping-exclusive products that were launched at last year’s TFWA World Exhibition.
Ricola is in the process of placing four personalised units in Duty Free Philippines’ shops at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, Fiesta Mall, Cebu Airport Terminal 2 and Zamboanga City. The company will shortly be announcing a new distribution partner for Korea and said it is confident of confirming further listings in the region.
At next month’s TFWA Asia Pacific show (H6, basement 2), Ricola will highlight its travel shopping-exclusive range. The checkout item for individual consumption consists of 75g tin boxes in three different designs. The tins contain unwrapped 2.5g sugar-free herb drops in three flavours: Original Herb, Lemon Mint, and Cranberry.
The shelf item for individual consumption comprises a 125g bag containing 3.6g wrapped sugar-free herb drops in a mixed doypack. Three flavours are available: Original Herb, Lemon Mint, and Eucalyptus.
The new range will be supported with strong branding, merchandising and promotion to secure personalised space in the top ten international airports, said Ricola.
Ricola Head of Travel Retail and Middle East Andreas Reckart commented: “We’ve been really pleased with the reaction from buyers to the new range. What’s more, consumers clearly love the product too.
“We are confident that our herb drops have global potential as travellers the world over look for self-consumption confectionery that not only freshens breath and soothes dry throats, but also tastes great.”
