Ricola to introduce new display concept and refreshed packaging

Swiss herbal confectionery specialist Ricola will reveal a new display concept and refreshed packaging at TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore on 7-11 May (Basement 2, H6).

The brand aims to have the new display materials for checkouts, self-standing units and promotional spaces featured in airports across Asia.

Set for the Singapore spotlight: Ricola Original and Lemon Mint Swiss alpine herb-flavoured drops are popular with Asian consumers

Ricola pointed out that airport stores are its key focus in the Asia Pacific region, where the brand is “seeing great potential based on its prospering business in local markets”. Ricola added that it “remains optimistic and open to other channels and continues to pursue them in collaboration with its distribution partners”.

‘The herbal travel essential’ – Ricola’s refreshed branding underlines its Swiss heritage and use of alpine herbs

Ricola Head of Travel Retail Andreas Reckart said: “Prior to COVID, Ricola’s business in Asia Pacific travel retail was just about to take off following the introduction of our impulse assortment.

“We had listings with many major retailers including China Duty Free Group, Dufry, Lotte Duty Free and The Shilla Duty Free, and sales were increasing steadily. Then the pandemic hit, and we were back to square one. Fortunately, we were able to maintain contact with most of our partners in Asia and we are now looking forwarded to continuing where we left off before the pandemic.”

Ricola’s best-selling products in Asia are the Original Swiss Herb drops and the sugar free Lemon Mint drops, with several minty variations also popular. The brand said packaging updates, which were revealed at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last year, will be highlighted at the Singapore event.

According to Ricola, the brand design, by London agency Lewis Moberly, reflects a new positioning and “more confident, contemporary stance”. It underlines that Ricola’s products are made with Swiss Alpine herbs and includes a refreshed logo. ✈
