Romeo Gigli sashays into Cannes – 11/10/06

Gentucca Bini, the new Creative Director of the Romeo Gigli fashion labels

ITALY. Italian company Mood Srl, world licensee of Romeo Gigli, has signed a three-year agreement with the Milanese designer Gentucca Bini to act as Creative Director for both the company’s lines: Romeo Gigli and Gigli, men’s and women’s wear.

In worldwide travel retail, Romeo Gigli and Gigli is represented by Extra-Solutions, which will exhibit at the upcoming Tax Free World Exhibition in Cannes (Stand number: Red Village M36).

Romeo Gigli and Gigli will exhibit men’s and women’s clothing, leather accessories, sunglasses, watches, shoes, ties and scarves.

The company’s new Creative Director Gentucca Bini will make her design debut in January 2007 at the menswear Fall/Winter 2007/08 fashion show. The womenswear collection might possibly return to Paris Fashion Week, the company said.

Bini comes from a family steeped in fashion – her grandmother was a couturier her father was an architect who created the Pierre Cardin label.

Her own fashion CV reads as follows: Blumarine, Anna Molinari, Gianfranco Ferrè and Chanel, as well as a collaboration with Andre Lèon Talley (now fashion editor of Vogue USA) and with Karl Lagerfeld.

In September 2003, Gentucca Bini also made her debut appearance on Milan’s official fashion calendar and runways during fashion week, with a Spring/Summer 2004 ready-to-wear collection that carried her name.
