Roust Group takes its global travel retail business in-house

Russian spirits producer Roust Group is bringing its global travel retail (GTR) business in-house.

Since 2009, Roust has collaborated with French drinks group Rémy Cointreau, which handled the distribution of Russian Standard vodka in the global channel.

From 1 April 2018, Roust will manage GTR operations from the company’s international office in London, selling directly to the channel’s key customers. Roust and Rémy Cointreau will continue their cooperation in several domestic markets, including Russia, Poland and Hungary.

The Roust Group portfolio includes international vodka brands Russian Standard, Żubrówka Bison Grass, Green Mark, Soplica, Kauffman, Parliament and Talka, plus Italian sparkling wine and vermouth brand Gancia.

According to IWSR 2017, Russian Standard vodka rates as travel retail’s fifth-largest vodka brand by value, with depletions growing year-on-year in a declining category.

In travel retail, Russian Standard is distributed in over 80 countries. Its solid performance has translated into consistent market share growth, Roust stated.

In a statement, Roust thanked Rémy Cointreau for its collaboration and support in developing the Russian Standard brand in GTR.
