FRANCE. Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail has partnered with Extime Duty Free (the joint venture between Lagardère Travel Retail and Paris Aeroports) to launch the limited-edition Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (Paris CDG).
The travel retail-exclusive expression is being showcased via a vibrant multi-sensorial pop-up in Terminal 1, following the whisky’s global launch in Seoul, London and Cannes during the first week of October.
The pop-up sees Royal Salute join forces with a luxury macaron house to offer travellers at Paris CDG a memorable gastronomic experience. Travellers can enjoy rose macarons and pair them with the floral, fruity flavours of the limited-edition whisky.
The expression marks the second year of Pernod Ricard’s collaboration with British fashion designer Richard Quinn, who is known for his bold, colourful floral prints. Quinn is the first recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.
Lagardère Travel Retail Director of Alcohol Supply and Purchasing Victoire Gueugnier commented: “We are excited to share this memorable brand experience with travellers whilst furthering our strong partnership with Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail. The elegant and luxurious space blends beautifully with its surroundings and elevates our distinguished retail offering in Terminal 1.”
As reported, Royal Salute expanded its Couture Collection with the the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II. At the beginning of October, the company initiated a phased roll-out for the expression across select travel retail stores worldwide.
Royal Salute Master Blender Sandy Hyslop and Quinn co-crafted the blend at the Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, Scotland. After meticulous testing and creative development, the pair created a Scotch whisky that prioritises depth and maturity and reflects the strengthening relationship between Royal Salute and the acclaimed British designer.
The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II combines hand-selected Scotch whiskies – including some from Braeval, Strathisla and Caperdonich – all matured for a minimum of 21 years. The blend features fruity notes with hints of spice and a smoky character.
The expression is housed in Royal Salute’s signature flagon, which has been adorned with three striking designs by Richard Quinn, each showcasing his characteristic bold style and love of colliding patterns.
The expression completes the Royal Salute Couture trio available exclusively in global travel retail. The final floral pattern uses vibrant purple, yellow and green shades against a clean white background.
“We were thrilled to finally unveil the launch of the new Limited Edition, Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II, and we are delighted with the execution at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport, made possible through our collaboration with our great retail partner, Lagardère Travel Retail,” added Pernod Ricard General Manager Travel Retail EMEA, Pacific and Global Customers Antonio Duva.
“We will continue to bring our brands to life in this dynamic marketplace, providing unique and engaging experiences for travellers.” ✈
