Scotch whisky sector newcomer InchDairnie Distillery has partnered with Gebr. Heinemann to launch RyeLaw Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky in Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Vienna airports.
RyeLaw Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky, InchDairnie Distillery’s first release, launched in April 2023. The distilled, malted rye Scotch whisky is 46.3% ABV with an RRP of €124.90 (US$135.40).
InchDairnie Distillery was awarded Newcomer of the Year with RyeLaw Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky at the 2023 Scottish Whisky Awards. Only 200 casks of the ‘Year One Vintage’ have been bottled and made available globally.
Founded by entrepreneur Ian Palmer, InchDairnie Distillery uses innovative materials, methods and maturation processes to create a balanced rye whisky. The firm is in the process of doubling its production capacity in coming years.
Notably, InchDairnie Distillery uses 53% malted rye and 47% malted barley, which are grounded extra finely to maximise flavour extraction. Its cereals are mashed using a Meura mash filter, one of only two deployed in Scotland.
The golden liquid offers spicy rye, mellow oak and soft vanilla aromas, with pepper, sweet biscuit, cereal and dried fruit flavours.

The whisky is fermented using a rye-specific yeast, which results in lower yields, but enhanced flavour. It is then double distilled in pot stills in Lochmond Hill before maturing in charred new oak casks.
Gebr. Heinemann Head of Buying Spirits Bastian-Philipp Müller commented: “Our goal is to consistently surprise travellers with high-quality, hard-to-find products, that add to our spectacular assortment. The RyeLaw Fife Single Grain Scotch Whisky is undoubtedly distinctive in its quality and market position.
“We’re excited to join forces with Ian and his team of whisky enthusiasts, who share the same level of passion as we do to make this product a standout success in the travel retail space.”
InchDairnie Distillery Founder and Managing Director Ian Palmer commented: “RyeLaw’s launch into European travel retail has been a major milestone for the InchDairnie team.
“We are looking forward to building on this partnership with Gebr. Heinemann for many years to come, particularly with the release of our InchDairnie 12 Year Old Single Malt in 2029.” ✈
