Scorpio features Humphrey Camel in new Time Design gift sets

UK. Scorpio Distributors has brought together two of its most successful concepts in a new gift set for kids: The Humphrey Camel Gift Set combines this popular character from Scorpio’s own exclusive Just range with the Time Design branding.

“Scorpio realised last year that there was a gap in the market for a children’s version of the highly successful Time Design gift sets,” said Scorpio Group Sales & Merchandising Director Richard Kennedy.

“We were proved right and these sets have really proved popular in their first year of trading. For 2011 we have extended the choice available and also introduced this new Humphrey Camel gift set, which is perfect for regional sales and as part of a destination offer.”

Available in two versions for girls and boys, the Humphrey Camel gift set contains a notebook, pen, keychain and watch – all featuring the Just camel character.

“Like all the sets, the Humphrey Camel version is priced at US$29.99 – and this one uniform price is a definitely key to the success of the Time Design sets,” continued Kennedy. “The gift sets offer a fantastic concept to travel retail with a variety of styles available for both boys and girls, all representing exceptional value for money and ease of purchase.”

All the gift sets include a quartz watch along with different items depending on the theme of the set.

For example, for boys there is a football set with two sweatbands and a soccer ball keyring; a camouflage set with mini compass and torch keyring; and a pirate set with telescope and pirate eye-patch. For girls there is a Princess set with pink pen and notebook; a multi bezel set with 11 interchangeable colour bezels and matching straps; plus Heart and Butterfly shaped watch sets both with seven interchangeable straps.

Scorpio has a strong belief in the children’s category within travel retail: “It’s a buoyant and growing sector; one which offers retailers an excellent opportunity for impulse purchase – leading to incremental sales,” noted Kennedy.
