UAE. Australian Scott Campbell captured the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup after a anemorable 24th running of the event in Dubai last week. The Dubai Airports’ commercial executive scored a combined 84 stableford points at the tournament, which is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the industry social calendar.
Over 90 players turned out to compete over the two days, with round one being played at The Address Montgomerie Dubai and round two at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin said: “Thanks to my team at Dubai Duty Free and to Montgomerie and Dubai Creek Golf Club for another successful running of the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup. The players thoroughly enjoyed the competitive and friendly atmosphere and the social interaction made it a good meeting place for those involved in the duty free industry.

“We look forward to welcome them back again and hopefully we will have even more players next year when we mark the tournament’s 25th anniversary.” added McLoughlin.

Campbell beat overnight leader Niall McLoughlin on count-back after a better second round score. Campbell said: “I’m shocked to have won such a prestigious event; it was an amazing two days and I’m looking forward to next year’s event already.”
