Newly-established Irish agency Shannon Retail Innovation is launching the Breathe Happy reusable KN95 face mask into travel retail.
Shannon Retail Innovation is owned by senior industry executive Joe Harvey. It aims to introduce up-and-coming brands to travel retail and other channels.
The Breathe Happy face mask is the world’s first KN95-certified face mask, said the company. The certification indicates that the mask provides the highest level of particulate filtration efficiency (PFE) and offers 99.9% bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE).
They are recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for effective frontline protection, providing the wearer with optimum levels of personal protection.
Compared to its disposable paper masks — which leave 20% of inhaled air unfiltered and 30% of exhaled air unfiltered — the Breathe Happy face mask filters 99.9% of both inhaled and exhaled air.
Each Breathe Happy filter retails at £1 and will last up to seven days, generating up to 40 times less waste than single-use paper masks. Each filter has four layers of filtration, meeting KN95 requirements for bacterial filtration efficiency, breathability and splash resistance.
Five filters are included with the initial purchase and an additional box of 20 filters can be ordered at www.breathe-happy.com. According to the company, each mask is designed to last several years.
The Breathe Happy face mask is lightweight and constructed from food-grade silicone, which makes it comfortably fit around facial contours. It also features adjustable straps and a separate filter mechanism, which reduces contact between the filter and face. The mask is also equipped with a custom insert feature, which allows customers to personalise their masks with different patterns.
The Breathe Happy reusable face mask retails at £19.99. Each package includes one sealed mask, five filters and a mesh boiling bag for sterilisation.
