Shiseido Travel Retail will be debuting new brightening and protecting skincare innovations from Shiseido and Clé de Peau Beauté at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Riviera Village Stand RJ5).
For the Shiseido brand, the beauty company is unveiling a new range of ‘technology-infused’ skincare products: the White Lucent Illuminating Micro-Spot Serum, Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Cream, and The Perfect Protector suncream. Meanwhile, Clé de Peau Beauté is debuting a reformulated edition of its Key Radiance Skincare Set Serum.
Shiseido has continued its stellar performance in travel retail, achieving +35% growth in the second quarter of 2019, the company said. It hopes to sustain this momentum with its new skincare launches, designed to brighten, renew, and protect the skin.
The White Lucent Illuminating Micro-Spot Serum has been reformulated with ReNeura Technology+ that invigorates unresponsive skin. It also improves radiance with its sakura-bright complex and targets hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and dullness.
The Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Cream was created for mature skin types. It has been enhanced with Shiseido’s ReNeura Technology+ and Kurenai-TruLift Complex, which proactively regenerates, lifts, and brightens skin.
The cream is part of the Vital Perfection Skincare range, which also includes the Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Cream Enriched, the Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Day Cream (only in EMEA and Americas travel retail) the Vital Perfection Overnight Firming Treatment, and the Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Day Emulsion (only in Asia Pacific travel retail). Both the Micro-Spot Serum and the Firming Cream will be available in worldwide travel retail in March 2020.
The Perfect Protector suncream is formulated with SynchroShield Technology and offers UV protection that becomes stronger with heat and water exposure. The formula is non-greasy and enriched with anti-ageing skin ingredients. It features eco-friendly, minimal waste packaging and will be available in worldwide travel retail from May 2020.
Shiseido Travel Retail is also launching a reformulated Serum from Clé de Peau Beauté’s Key Radiance skincare set. The Serum has been enhanced with Clé de Peau Beauté’s intuitive skin science technology. It has been reformulated with a skin-empowering illuminator complex that helps improve skin radiance and vitality. It also contains a rejuvenating kelplex and algae complex that aids in skin regeneration.
The other products in the set are the Hydro-Clarifying Lotion, Hydro-Softening Lotion, the Protective Fortifying Emulsion, Protective Fortifying Cream, Intensive Fortifying Emulsion, and Intensive Fortifying Cream. The entire Key Radiance set became available in worldwide travel retail this September.
Skincare continues to be one of the key growth drivers for Shiseido Travel Retail, helping it become the fourth-largest player in the channel. Last year, Shiseido’s skincare portfolio experienced +44% growth, led by the Asia Pacific region.
The latest Generation Research figures show that skincare is now the largest segment in the perfumes & cosmetics category in travel retail, representing 47% of the category as of 2018. Skincare is also the fastest-growing segment in the channel, experiencing +36% sales growth that year.
Shiseido Travel Retail Vice President Marketing and Innovation Elisabeth Jouguelet said: “Research and development has been the backbone of Shiseido for more than a century, enabling us to keep pace with the diverse, ever-changing needs of today’s consumers, and pioneering new products to support our group mission to create ‘Beauty Innovations For a Better World’.
“Thanks to cutting-edge innovation, our latest skincare launches from Shiseido and Clé de Peau Beauté are able to address multiple skin concerns, perfectly complementing consumers’ busy and active lifestyles. We believe they will help maintain the fantastic growth of our skincare portfolio in global travel retail and we are very excited to present them to our customers at this year’s TFWA,” she added.
