INTERNATIONAL. Silhouette International, the global licensee for Adidas eyewear, has unveiled the 2009 collection of Adidas sunglasses for sports enthusiasts.

Adidas adiZERO for runners

The latest model for runners, adiZERO, is designed to offer optimum eye protection and enhanced vision, the company said. The frames are lightweight and ergonomically designed, while the new RXready adapter system means they can be fitted with inframe optical lenses.

Thanks to their high quality filters for diverse weather conditions, this running eyewear model aims to protect against UV-rays, compensate for extreme light fluctuations and enhance contrasts. With the ergonomically shaped temples, lightweight SPX frame material (weighing only 20g) and performance LST active lenses, the adiZERO allows runners to concentrate fully on their run.

The SPX material is said to make the adiZERO both robust and light. The flexible temples with non-slip Traction Grip material ensure an optimum fit and with the help of the S-shaped temples, the eyewear can be worn with a cap or visor without any pressure points arising.

Adidas adivista and T-sight for golfers

The Adidas eyewear golf range has been upgraded with adivista models in red and grey, as well as the T-sight style in brown.

Specially designed to meet golfers’ needs, the decentred polycarbonate filters are lightweight and impact-resistant. For the 2009 season, adivista will feature the LST active filter, which is said to offer a lightening effect in tandem with high light absorption and contrast.

Adidas eyewear has extended its range of T-sight filters with the LST contrast light silver, a lighter version of the LST contrast filter. The heightened contrast effect is designed to help golfers to better read the greens and allows a more precise estimation of distance. In particular, the LST contrast light silver filter provides the necessary security under changeable conditions while simultaneously equalising extreme light fluctuations. The lens filter shape is also matched to golfers’ requirements, as it enables a wide field of vision and prevents irritating contacts, e.g. with the cheek when the head is lowered.

Both golf models have three-setting angle adjustment of the temples, two-level nose bridge settings (Double-Snap Nose Bridge) and non-slip Traction Grip material on the end of the temples for a secure fit. Thanks to the SPX material, the golf eyewear is light and flexible. Both the T-sight and adivista are available in two sizes and can also be fitted with the Performance Insert, the adidas eyewear optical clip-in system. In addition, adivista is also compatible with the RX adapter system for direct inframe glazing.

Like all models in the Adidas eyewear collection, adivista and T-sight are designed and manufactured in Austria by the leading eyewear producer Silhouette International.
