Silhouette makes a statement in Cannes with 2015 Sun Collection

Austrian eyewear company Silhouette highlighted its 2015 Sun Collection at last month’s TFWA World Exhibition. The collection aims to “make a statement” with its minimalist designs.

The Titan Minimal Art Ultra Thin is said to be the world’s lightest sunglasses with curved lenses that offer sun protection from every angle. It is available in grey, brown and blue-silver mirrored colours.

The special-edition Felder Felder collection, created in partnership with fashion designer duo Felder Felder, comprises Audrey Hepburn cat-eye style rimless models. Colour options are orange, green, pink and brown. This range will be available in domestic and travel retail markets from February 2015.

Originally made popular by Elton John in 1974, Silhouette has created a new, minimalist version of the Futura model. The lightweight unisex model is aimed at self-confident women and men who appreciate cutting-edge design, the company said. The sunglasses are available in grey, brown and purple-apricot.

The Adventurer Aviator model is a rimless interpretation of the popular oval lens shape and comes in two sizes, suitable for men and women. Described as a “timeless classic model for those who want to add a subtle touch of coolness to their look”, the sunglasses are available in grey, brown, blue and green-silver mirrored colours.

Described as “attractive and unconventional”, Allure features low-set temple arms that swing upwards. The sunglasses come in grey, brown and purple-apricot colours.

Other models in the Sun Collection include Titan Profile, Titan Minimal Art The Must Collection and Titan Minimal Art The Icon.

Speaking to The Moodie Report in Cannes, Silhouette Global Travel Retail Manager Sandra Simader said that key target regions for travel retail are the Middle East and Russia for Silhouette and Korea for Adidas Eyewear.

She added that Silhouette’s bestselling model in travel retail is the Titan Minimal Art range, while Raylor and Evil Eye Half Rim are the most popular Adidas Eyewear models.

The new Evil Eye Evo model by Adidas Eyewear, which was previewed at TFWA World Exhibition, is said to provide razor sharp visibility and a wider field of vision. It also claims to ensure a precise and secure fit.

Pre-launch promotions for Evil Eye Evo are happening throughout November and December, with the official worldwide launch on 1 February.
