Silhouette International Schmied AG is to unveil its new collections for Silhouette and adidas eyewear at the upcoming 2012 IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas (Booth number 1710).
Silhouette SUN 2012: Celebrate the Sun
“With the new SUN 2012 sunglasses collection we are not following a trend but making statements,” said Silhouette Co-owner and Chairman Arnold Schmied, who was involved in developing the new line.
The combination of mainly rimless eyewear design consists of 16 models, all offering sun protection and designed to make an impact, thanks to their high design standards, comfort because of their lightness, and state-of-the-art processing – up to 80% by hand, the company said.
The collection consists of two lines: Lifestyle by Design, for a chic look, and Action by Design, for sport, according to Brand Director Andreas Aschauer-Martinelli.
“With this well-designed system of sun protection lenses, Silhouette emphasises the idea of individuality because for every requirement, every need, every personality and every face there is a pair of individual Silhouette sunglasses in the SUN 2012 collection,” he added.
The SUN 2012 collection is available in the specialist trade worldwide from 2012 and starts at €180.

Lifestyle by Design sunglasses
Trend-setting Lifestyle by Design sunglasses consist of 13 models, each with distinctive design details.
Silhouette Icon is described as ultra-light, without screws or hinges, available in a range of up to seven colours. Polarised lenses are also available, as are prescription lenses.
The aviator-shaped Silhouette Adventurer model is said to be robust and flexible at the same time thanks to the use of hi-tech titanium. Available for both women and men, the Adventurer is available in four different lens shapes, in three colours and in two different styles.
Silhouette Class incorporates some elements from watch design, reinterpreted. Distinctive design with metal effects characterise these rimless sunglasses designed mainly for men, which are also available with polarised sun protection lenses in two models.
Silhouette Cosmopolitan picks up on the style of the 1980s and playfully adapts it with various materials, the company said. Leather decorates the temples and the fashionable colours range from apricot to purple.
Silhouette New Horizon are rimless shield shades combining lightness and style. Both Silhouette New Horizon models have signature Silhouette features – no hinges, no screws and hardly any weight thanks to hi-tech titanium.
Silhouette Center Court does not slip and is designed to stand out thanks to its optimum fit. The shapes and colours, for which both hi-tech titanium and light SPX plastic are used, are described as modern.
Action by Design models
Action by Design sunglasses comprise three models. The combination of state-of-the-art sunglasses technology and dynamic design have resulted in the two Silhouette Pro models which feature strong colour accents and a sporty wrap-around design.
The lightweight models are available with or without polarised sun protection lenses, and feature hi-tech titanium and SPX.
Silhouette Trophy is lightweight and has a wrap-around look, for both for men and women.
The Silhouette SUN 2012 collection offers lenses in grey, green or brown tones, depending on the choice of sun protection. Colours include Apricot Degradé, Earth Degradé, Purple Degradé and Grey and Green Degradé.

New adidas eyewear
Sports eyewear specialist adidas eyewear is launching the new raylor model, described as extremely lightweight golf sunglasses designed to ensure optimal vision.
As well as its modern design, raylor features highly curved LST filters specially designed for golfing, guaranteeing an all-round view as well as protection from glare, UV rays and insects. The filters also increase contrasts and compensate for light variations, helping the golfer to identify texture variations on the ground. To allow golfers to respond to different weather conditions, a wide range of filters is offered.
The frame, made from lightweight and robust SPX material, is comfortable to wear, thanks to the bridge which is adjustable in two directions and the non-slip temples, which also fit under a cap or visor.
The raylor is available in shiny black, shiny white, shiny pink and shiny brown.

New adidas duramo for runners
Aimed at runners, the new duramo model is designed to be lightweight, non-slip and equipped with the best filter technology.
The individually adjustable bridge and temples are made from soft, non-slip material for a comfortable fit, while the rimless design allows a wide field of vision. The high quality filters also offer a clear view, providing protection from UV rays, increasing contrasts and compensating for light variations. They also provide protection from wind, dust, insects or branches.
The duramo is available in sizes S and L in the colours shiny black, shiny white, shiny brown, transparent red, transparent blue and transparent grey. The Sport Performance eyewear can be fitted with an optical insert.
