GREECE. Sim Local, the largest seller of SIM cards in the UK travel market, has opened two new stores in Athens International Airport. They are situated in the landside arrivals area and the baggage reclaim hall.
The retailer said its new outlets make buying a local SIM card on arrival in the Greek capital simple.
According to Sim Local, the two stores were custom-designed and built for the space available at Athens International. Both feature eye-catching digital canopies.

As well as local SIM cards from Vodafone and Tazamobile, the stores sell a curated range of accessories from suppliers including Skross.
Sim Local Chief Trading Officer Ian Rankin said: “We are delighted to be trading in Athens International Airport and are already seeing strong sales as intercontinental travel continues to bounce back following the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our partnership with AIA is testament to our ambitious growth plans, and we are already exploring additional opportunities to expand our reach into more European airports over the coming months.”
The new stores follow recent openings by Sim Local at London Heathrow and Brussels airports.
The retailer also operates a network of vending machines across European airports and works with affiliate partners such as WHSmith and InMotion in airports globally.
