UK. Pernod Ricard World Trade’s Asian business is finishing 2003 on a high note with a number of travel-focussed promotions ending and others coming up.
The PRWT division Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free has recently announced the nine lucky winners of the Royal Salute Ultimate Celebration promotion and grand draw, and is now offering an equally appealing promotion to support the new Chivas Life advertising campaign.
The Royal Salute Ultimate Celebration promotion ran in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Australia from May to July 2003. Customers who purchased a bottle of Royal Salute 21 year old received one of three limited edition commemorative medallions from the British Royal Mint and the chance to win one of the 255 bottles of Royal Salute 50 year old.
The winners include travellers from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia and four from South Korea. Australian David Mason, a miner from Port Headland, was presented with his bottle of Royal Salute 50 year old by the 13th Duke of Argyll in November. Similar presentation ceremonies will take place to award the much-coveted prizes to each of the winners.
To capitalise on Royal Salute’s visibility following this promotion, Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free and Chivas Brothers developed a specially-designed merchandising unit for Royal Salute 50 year old and Royal Salute 21 year old. The unit communicates the luxury and prestige of the Royal Salute brand, increasing its desirability as a gift.
In the unit Royal Salute 50 year old’s flagon is showcased on a rotating bur wood pedestal at the centre, which is crafted out of solid curved stainless steel, and custom-made curved and etched glass panels in-filled with real gold. The distinctive Royal Salute 21 year old ‘Ruby’, ‘Sapphire’ and ‘Emerald’ flagons are positioned to the sides of the unit.
Following the success of the Royal Salute promotion, Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free is now supporting the new Chivas Life ad campaign by offering purchasers of Chivas Regal the opportunity to win one of three trips of a lifetime, worth around US$20,000.
In the Adventurous Life, one lucky customer will win a trekking trip for two people to Everest Base Camp. Winners will fly to Kathmandu and proceed on their ten-day adventure trek on the route followed by many famous expeditionaries.
In the Relaxed Life, the prize is a relaxing holiday for two in the Maldives. Winners will fly to Malé and spend four nights at the luxurious Soneva Fushi Resort, situated on a private island surrounded by a coral lagoon.
In the Active Life, the prize is a yachting trip on the Andaman Sea. Winners will fly to Phuket and stay for four nights at the lavish Amanpuri Resort. While there, they will spend a day cruising on the Andaman Sea aboard a luxury yacht.
Additionally, all customers can choose either the Adventurous Life reward – a rugged backpack, the Relaxed Life reward – a handy beach bag, or the Active Life reward – a stylish weekend bag. Each bag comes with a booklet designed in the form of a ‘luggage tag’ containing details of the promotion, the prizes and a prize draw entry form.
The Chivas Life promotion will run in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Macau, and Thailand from October to December, China from November to December and Korea in December 2003. The winners of the three grand prizes will be drawn in February 2004.
