USA. SSP America has announced a new corporate partnership with Meals on Wheels America, which supports over 5,000 community-based programmes dedicated to addressing senior isolation and hunger problems across the USA.
SSP America, along with its key supplier partners and team members, will assist Meals on Wheels America’s efforts through a series of initiatives including product promotions in restaurants – with a portion of the proceeds dedicated to Meals on Wheels – employee engagement and fundraising activities in local communities.

SSP America Chief Executive Officer Michael Svagdis said: “SSP America is working hard to manage the dramatic impact of the COVID-19 crisis on our operations.
“Simultaneously, we are determined to help senior citizens in the communities we serve who experience hunger and loneliness. Our team has a passion for volunteerism and lives by a principal of service from the heart. We’re looking forward to working as a team in each of the communities where we operate to help our nation’s most vulnerable citizens.”
Meals on Wheels America President and CEO Ellie Hollander commented: “We are incredibly grateful and proud to be working with SSP America and its employees to address senior hunger and isolation.”
She pointed out that, even before COVID, nearly ten million seniors in America struggled with hunger; eight million lived in isolation and over seven million had incomes below the poverty line.
“Providing travellers with the opportunity to give back while they dine will help ensure that no senior is hungry, alone, or left behind,” Hollander added.
