EGYPT. Leading travel restaurateur SSP has captured the main food & beverage concession at Hurghada Airport, which was tendered via an auction today.
The company beat off competition from Flemingo, the only other bidder, a source close to the process told The Moodie Report. The auction took over three hours to complete.
Egyptian Airports Company is scheduled to host the eagerly awaited Hurghada Airport T2 duty free auction tomorrow, with intense interest in the bidding from both local and international travel retailers.
As reported, Gebr Heinemann and its Egyptian partners captured the duty free concession at Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport Terminal 2 after an auction on Monday.
A further tender for Sharm el-Sheikh T1 was due to be held this week, but has been postponed, probably until early May.
