SSP enhances food-to-go offer at Zürich’s main railway station with Point and Ida & Frida

Ida & Frida brings a modern twist to the retail mix at Switzerland’s busiest railway station

SWITZERLAND. Global travel food services group SSP has unveiled a duo of retail concepts at Zürich Central Station, operating under its proprietary brands, Point and Ida & Frida.

The openings further enhance the food-to-go offering at Switzerland’s largest and busiest rail hub.

SSP showcases Swiss brands at the new Point store, reinforcing its focus on local products

Covering 115sq m of space, Point offers a one-stop shopping experience with a wide selection of essential products such as groceries, magazines and travel accessories.

The new store marks Point’s debut in Switzerland, joining the brand’s 58 locations operated by SSP worldwide.

Point showcases Swiss flavours with products from Jucker Farm and coffee from Zürich’s Stoll roaster, designed to provide quick and authentic options for travellers.

Another SSP-owned brand, Ida & Frida highlights wellness and sustainability, serving wholegrain sandwiches, hot snacks, fresh juices and smoothies as a healthier fast-food alternative.

The 39sq m store caters exclusively to take-away service.

SSP Switzerland General Manager Regina Pfeiffer said, “At both Point and Ida & Frida guests will be able to use a range of digital technologies including LCD screens and digital payment to make their selection quickly and easily.

“Sustainable practices have been a key consideration in the planning of these new offers, from the choice of shop fittings to the sourcing of electricity and the design of the product ranges.”

SBB Team Leader Leasing Marina Stettler added, “Our goal is to create a diverse and recognisable range of stations that combines established concepts with local and new offerings. With a strong range of local products and healthier propositions, SSP’s new outlets perfectly complement the station offer, in line with our customer needs.”

Point is located in the Passage Sihlquai, while Ida & Frida, which opened in February, operates in the Gessnerallee passage Halle Landesmuseum. ✈
