SSP Group kicks off Christchurch Airport F&B programme with Urban Pantry opening

NEW ZEALAND. Global travel restaurateur SSP Group has unveiled Urban Pantry, the first venue in its new seven-outlet food & beverage programme at Christchurch Airport.

As reported, SSP was awarded the contract earlier this summer as part of a major terminal refresh, marking the company’s debut in New Zealand.

Urban Pantry is the first of seven food & beverage openings for SSP under its new Christchurch Airport contract

Urban Pantry has an extensive seating area and also offers to-go options. The menu includes sandwiches, pastries, desserts and a range of specialty coffees.

In a post on LinkedIn, SSP Group CEO Patrick Coveney commented: “Well done to Gareth Bull [SSP Australia & New Zealand Operations Director] on getting this cool store open at Christchurch Airport. Having seen the nearly finished store last week, it’s clear that it will be a great addition to the airport – bringing super food, coffee and fresh sandwiches to regional travellers.”

Other planned openings for SSP at the airport include bar/restaurant Portal and cafés Fern and Co and Discovered. ‍
