Mark Angela CEO SSP UK & Ireland |
UK.Global travel food services group SSP Group has named Mark Angela as the new CEO of the SSP UK & Ireland division.
Angela, former Pizza Express Restaurants CEO, will join the company on 20 February 2012 and will oversee a business that generated sales in excess of £650 million (US$998 million) in 2011.
His career history includes four years as Pizza Express Restaurants CEO, prior to which he was Managing Director of Greene King Pub Company and a main board member of Greene King plc for three years. He previously held general management and marketing roles in the fast-moving consumer goods and pharmaceutical sectors, including 11 years at Colgate-Palmolive and five years at Imperial Chemical Industries (now Astra-Zeneca).

His strong track record of delivering profitable growth in consumer focused brands like Pizza Express and Greene King speaks for itself. His leadership skills and experience are perfectly suited to continuing the growth of our UK & Ireland division. I would also like to thank the departing UK & Ireland CEO, Tony Keating, for his outstanding contribution to the company over almost 30 years of service, and to wish him all the best for the future as he pursues other interests outside of SSP.”

SSP’s UK and Ireland division has 650 trading units and employs around 10,000 staff.
