GERMANY. Global travel food & beverage specialist SSP has opened a Starbucks Coffee House in Hamburg Main Station.
The outlet is located on the south bridge, the station’s most densely trafficked walkway leading to the subway and long-distance platforms. A staff of 13 coffee experts will serve Starbucks specialties from 6am until 10pm.
Hamburg is Germany’s largest railway station with 450,000 passengers passing through daily. SSP now operates 13 outlets at the station, including global brands such as Burger King and Pizza Hut as well as premium national brand Kamps bakery.
SSP Regional Manager DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) Cornelius Everke said he welcomes this development in the partnership with Starbucks and Germany’s biggest railway station landlord Deutsche Bahn. Everke said further locations will be added within the next few years.
The partnership between Starbucks and SSP dates back to 2008. A license agreement for the European market allows SSP to open Starbucks Coffee House outlets at travel locations.
