SINGAPORE. International food & beverage operator SSP has won a contract to run an O’Learys Bar and Grill at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 and a Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits at the new Terminal 3.
O’Learys Bar and Grill will be located at the Terminal 2 transit area while Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits will be on the lower ground floor of Terminal 3.
These deals come shortly after SSP signed a seven year contract to run a Caffè Ritazza, a Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits, and an O’Learys bar at the Singapore Flyer. This tourist attraction is expected to be the world’s largest observation wheel when it opens in downtown Singapore next year.
SSP Asia Pacific Managing Director Daren Lau counts SSP’s strong brand portfolio and established reputation in Asia as significant factors in securing these new deals.
He said: “Our strong brand portfolio enables us to offer a selection of powerful names to our Singapore clients, which certainly helped us to secure this new business.”
On the significance of its new contracts, he said: “This win will do much to consolidate our position in both the airport sector and the leisure market in Singapore. It builds on our long-standing reputation in Asia and is an excellent next step in the development of our South Asian business.
“Competition in the region is tough, and for this reason I’m particularly delighted that SSP has been chosen for these prestigious ventures,” he added.
SSP has operations in 28 countries around the world in airports, train stations, motorway service stations, retail parks and conference centres. Its portfolio includes Caffè Ritazza, Le Train Blue, Marks & Spencer Simply Food, Bonne Journée, Caviar House & Prunier, Pizza Hut and Upper Crust.
