SSP UK opens craft beer house at London Waterloo railway station

UK. Travel food & beverage specialist SSP has opened The Beer House at London Waterloo railway station.

This is SSP UK’s second Beer House, following the success of the first unit which opened at London Charing Cross last year. Two further units will open soon, including one at London Paddington station in December.

Raising the game for station pubs: The Beer House at London Waterloo Station

Located on the main Waterloo Station concourse opposite platform one, The Beer House serves more than 50 craft and premium beers including British, European and international craft breweries.

It offers beer expertise with food and beer matching recommendations to improve the drinking experience for customers.

The concept also offers classic pub food with a twist, such as Beer House Krakauer Dog, and a small-plate grazing menu for time-pressured customers which features Sticky Ribs, Pulled Pork Baps and Mini Burgers.

The average spend is £10-£12 (US$16-$19)for a main meal and a drink, or three dishes for £10 (US$16) on the small plate menu.

SSP UK Chief Marketing Officer Sarah Jezard said: “This brand was developed to capitalise on the growing trend in the market of consumers looking for something interesting and different as the craft beer movement continues to gain momentum.

“With a drinks range to shout about and a great food offer too, The Beer House concept is part of SSP’s continued drive to raise the game both for station pubs and for the local community.

“It will serve the finest range of beers in the Waterloo area and provide a destination for passengers and local residents alike.”
