ASIA PACIFIC. Starboard Cruise Services has named Emily Wong as Vice President & General Manager, Asia, a newly created position.
She will be based at Starboard Cruise Services’ Hong Kong office and will also work regularly from its Shanghai location.
She will lead Starboard Cruise Services’ presence in Asia, having joined from sister LVMH company Marc Jacobs, where she served as General Manager for Asia Pacific. In her most recent position, she was responsible for brand strategy, distribution strategy, spearheading category expansion for the region, leading retail partner relationships and providing leadership.

Before this she had a career with Nike, where she served in various leadership capacities including Merchandising Director and General Manager, supporting both Greater China as well as Asia Pacific.
Before relocating to Asia, she lived in Switzerland while working for the Swiss leathergoods company Bally, and also spent time in Canada, where she worked in the real estate sector.
Ms Wong will report to Senior Vice President Luxury Cruise Retail & Asia Office David Goubert. Reporting directly to her will be Sr. District Manager Stuart Breen, Merchandise Manager Mandy Lau, Planning Manager Anita Tam and HR Scheduler Jennifer Pan.
In other Starboard news, lifestyle fashion brand Newport News has entered a partnership with the cruise retailer, effective from this Autumn. Starboard will offer the brand’s latest products on an exclusive basis through its ship concessions worldwide. The deal coincides with the 150th anniversary of Newport News parent company Spiegel, a leading women’s fashion retailer.
“This opportunity allows us to chart new territory for this incredible brand and bring instant style to discerning travellers,” said designer Richard Lowe. “This limited edition collection leaves nothing to chance, with vibrant prints, elaborate beading and striking silhouettes that will distinguish it from other resort wear.”
