Sue Ryder chosen as Luton Airport’s charity partner for two more years

UK. London Luton Airport has announced that national charity Sue Ryder will serve another two years as its charity partner after winning the public’s vote over six other charities.

Sue Ryder, which has provided health and social care services in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire for four decades, came out on top of the airport’s charity partner poll with 37% of 64,000 votes cast by members of the public.

The charity had previously served as the airport’s charity partner in 2012 and 2013 and will now serve another two-year term for 2014 and 2015. Funds raised from the partnership will go towards supporting the Sue Ryder’s specialist care centres in Stagenhoe and St. John’s Hospice.

Sue Ryder Regional Fundraiser Paresh Nar said: “The last two years have been outstanding. We’ve had such great support from the airport’s staff and passengers. Thanks to our supporters, we are over the moon to have won the public vote and look forward to delivering even more hours of incredible care.”
