CHINA. Amorepacific-owned prestige skincare brand Sulwhasoo and China Duty Free Group (CDFG) have partnered to launch the ‘Secret of Ginsenomics’ pop-up at the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay. It is running throughout March.

The Secret of Ginsenomics pop-up shines the light on Sulwhasoo’s hero Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Serum. It showcases the science and technology that powers Sulwhasoo and features different educational and entertaining elements. Highlights include a photo booth decorated with Ginsenomics-inspired hanging decors and a vending machine which gives out exclusive gifts.

In addition, the animation features several CDF-exclusive sets, including the Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Trio and Quintet Kits. Other extra benefits are available at the pop-up throughout March.

“We are delighted to present the Sulwhasoo Secret of Ginsenomics pop-up store and hope our customers will visit Haitang Bay to experience the exclusive showcase,” commented China Duty Free Group General Manager of Perfume & Cosmetics Division Grace Wang.

“Through solid partnership with Amorepacific, we hope to share more about this special brand with our Hainan visitors in the future.”

The Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Serum has consistently been Sulwhasoo’s best-selling product, topping the domestic luxury anti-aging cream category in South Korea from 2015 to 2020, according to Beaute Research Korea.

Sulwhasoo unveiled a new advanced formula for the hero serum in September 2021, with Ginsenomics as the key ingredient. Developed by the Sulwhasoo Heritage and Science Centre, the anti-aging serum has been infused with Ginsenomics, which offers up to 6,000 times the average amount of rare saponin concentrate compared to other ginseng-based serums in the market.

Amorepacific Senior Vice President Global Travel Retail David Park added, “We are excited to meet with our customers with an exclusive showcase in Hainan, which has emerged as a hub for luxury brands. We will continue our effort to create synergy with CDFG through our strong partnership and deliver our unique brand value to customers around the world.”

The striking, multi-sensorial pop-up is the latest project born from Sulwhasoo parent company Amorepacific and CDFG’s strategic partnership

The pop-up is the latest project born from Amorepacific and CDFG’s strategic partnership. As reported, the deal — officially signed during a virtual ceremony on 13 October 2020 — aims to expand the presence of Amorepacific’s brands across CDFG’s retail network, particularly in Hainan province.

It also drives significant investment into the marketing and digital transformation of Amorepacific’s brands with CDFG. The partners have also committed to support each other’s mutual growth amid a rapidly evolving market.
