Swarovski brand lolaandgrace builds travel retail presence

Since making its debut at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last October, lolaandgrace continues to grow its travel retail presence in the UK with plans to enter World Duty Free at London Heathrow Terminal 5 as well as other locations in Europe.

Speaking to The Moodie Report at Baselworld last month, Daniel Swarovski Vice President Travel Retail Peter Zottl said: “We see the potential and promise for lolaandgrace in travel retail. With lolaandgrace, we can make new in-roads. In travel retail, you count on the synergy of the distribution channel.”

The jewellery brand made its Baselworld debut last month, where it showcased its latest collections on Swarovski’s 2,000sq m booth, which was awarded the Red Dot Design for Best Stand. Re-designed in 2013 by Tokujin Yoshioka, the stand featured a seven-metre-high curved wall with over 250,000 reflectors, representing the facets of Swarovski crystals synonymous with the brand.

lolaandgrace currently has eight point of sales at airports in the UK, including London Gatwick, Birmingham and Bristol.

In Europe, lolaandgrace will have three new locations with The Nuance Group in Zürich, Toulouse and Hamburg. Heinemann also stocks the brand at its stores.

New airline listings include Qantas, Japan Airlines (on domestic flights), FlyNiki, Germanwings and TAP Portugal.

lolaandgrace Vice President Nina Müller said she has received a lot of positive feedback on the brand’s presence in travel retail. “It shows there’s a big opportunity for us in the €20 to €60 market,” she said.

At that price point, lolaandgrace is hoping to capture that 19-29 age bracket who are aspiring to own something that is of much higher quality than so-called “˜affordable fashion jewellery’.

“All we do is high quality. That’s where Swarovski comes into play,” said Zottl.

lolaandgrace recently announced new products for its travel retail collection. These include the Opulent Sparkle Statement Ring, which features six large balls with tone-on-tone hand applied Swarovski crystals.
