AUSTRALIA. Leading crystal brand Swarovski will open a boutique at The Forum shopping precinct in Sydney Airport’s renovated International Terminal (T1) in 2010, the airport confirmed today.

Sydney Airport Corporation Limited General Manager, Retail Derek Larsen said: “As part of the A$500 million upgrade and expansion of T1, our vision is to partner with those companies and brands who share our commitment to excellence and quality. Swarovski, celebrated around the world as international crystal specialists, certainly aligns with this vision to deliver the best and will be a welcome addition to the new shopping precinct based in the redeveloped International Terminal.”

The new Swarovski boutique will be refurbished according to a design that came through the collaboration between renowned Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka and Swarovski.

Larsen continued: “The newly designed Swarovski boutique, in itself a revelation of ingenuity and creativity, will be designed to evoke visions of a forest filled with shimmering crystals. The store will open in 2010 and will be housed in our new shopping arena named “˜The Forum’.

Swarovski was profiled in the October/November 2008 issue of The Moodie Report Digital Print Edition

“Our goal is to create a shopping arena that will attract the world’s best brands and in doing so capture the hearts and minds of the 10 million people who travel through T1 annually by delivering an exciting, seamless transition between shopping and travel.”

Swarovski will join a strong mix of prominent international brands including Giorgio Armani and Burberry. Max Kirchler from Swarovski said: “Our new boutique at Sydney’s International Airport will be the jewel in the crown for our Australian operations.”
