SWITZERLAND. Swatch is introducing seven new Fun Scuba watches offering the latest in technology added to fun, fashion appeal.
The watches are designed as “an homage to the sport of diving and to the underwater world”.
Each line features an hour hand that immediately measures diving depth in increments of one meter down to 5 meters, then every two meters after that to a depth of 40 meters – critical criteria for divers. Meanwhile the minute hand measures the duration of the dive – in increments of one second for the first two minutes and then in increments of one minute after that. The maximum measurable dive time with a Fun Scuba is 90 minutes.
The Fun Scuba also records the last dive made – effectively acting as a logbook. If a dive turns out to be particularly impressive, the wearer can store it on their watch as a “˜favourite’ and replay it any time later.
Brief descriptions of the seven lines follow. In each case all scales and hands are fluorescent. All lines are water resistant to 200 meters.
Moray’s Bite: Black rubber strap with a classic utility-diver look. Retaining loop, buckle and case made of black plastic. Black bezel with white minute markings (indices and Arabic numerals).
Whale Ride: Midnight blue silicon strap with matt transparent lateral strips on both straps. Shimmering dark blue dial with hour and minute markings (white indices and Arabic numerals) around the outer edge.
Farfallino Giallo: Yellow silicon strap. Each strap appears with two black, feeler-like “˜inlays’ running from the case along most of the length of the strap. Black dial with hour and minute markings (white indices and Arabic numerals) around the outer edge.
Dolphin Whistle: Aquamarine silicon strap. Each strap appears with two black, feeler-like “˜inlays’ running from the case along most of the length of the strap. White dial with hour and minute markings (black indices and Arabic numbers) around the edge. Black bezel with white minute markings.
Red Scale Tuna: Gray rubber strap with scale-like moldings across the entire surface. Two red, crescent-shaped curves near the case on each strap “˜surround’ the light gray plastic case. Midnight blue bezel; shimmering silver dial with depth gauge scale.
Squid Bubbles: Matt transparent silicon strap. Each strap appears with three gill-like notches on approximately half the length of the strap with a lateral turquoise inlay. Matt transparent plastic case; turquoise bezel with hour markings in white (Arabic numerals and dots). Shimmering turquoise dial with gray hour and minute markings around the outer edge (white indices and Arabic numerals).
Climbing Lobster: Orange rubber strap with lateral slits near the case. Orange rubber retaining look; buckle and case made of black plastic. Black bezel with white hour markings (indices and Arabic numerals). Silver shimmering dial with the five Olympic rings in white.
