UK. Ted Baker has returned to London Stansted Airport with a brand new store following the airport’s £80 million terminal transformation.
The Departures store, which officially opened on 6 November, is inspired by summer holidays. Feature walls include blue glass pool tiles, 3D Polaroid style boxes which have props to make life size recreations of typical holiday snaps and upholstered passport covers. Behind the cash desk is a circular light fitting which glows in a warm red and orange, said to emulate the sun.

The ceiling above the cash desk features wooden slats, to represent a sun terrace, and pendant lights. Throughout the rest of the store sunken ceiling troughs are brightly coloured with beach ball lights hanging down.
Fixtures in the shop are designed in ice-cream, sandcastle and bucket shapes and the cash desk features oversized ice lollies in bright, summer colours. The fitting rooms feature hot pink lilo-inspired seating.
An interactive digital screen on the façade of the store, which senses the movement of shoppers passing by, invites customers to move closer as the screen makes a reflective pattern in waves and colours.
During the opening weekend the brand gave away complimentary beach bags to holiday-bound customers.
