FRANCE. Texier has unveiled its Spring/Summer 09 collection of bags, accessories and small leathergoods comprising brightly coloured styles for men and women.
In a bid to target travel retailers, the French company offers a space-saving ground shop merchandising stand that holds 14-16 business bags.
For inflight sales, the company has produced a leather belt presented in transparent window-box packaging, available in brown and black with two buckles.
Speaking at the 2008 TFWA World Exhibition, Export Director Pierrick Maignan told The Moodie Report: “We are a business bag specialist, but three years ago we started producing women’s bags in more modern, fashionable styles. Today, we have only one range of classical bags and the rest of the collection is brightly coloured and stylish. However, we always keep in mind the need to be practical at the same time as fashionable, offering bags with pockets inside and outside, for example.”
The average retail price of a Texier handbag is €250-300. In addition to its wide range of fashion handbags, the company also supplies stylish women’s briefcases.
According to Maignan, the Brittany-based company runs showrooms in Paris and London, and has listings onboard Brittany Ferries as well as in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe, including Geneva and Frankfurt.
