FRANCE/INTERNATIONAL. A new Tax Free World Association (TFWA) Board and Management Committee was named at a press conference during the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes today (3 October).
The group will serve the trade association with a two-year mandate from October 2024 to October 2026.
Those elected to the Board are Be Relax Head of Operations Jean-Pierre Bombet (Vice President Finance); Chanel Head of Global Travel Retail Hervé Ducros (Vice President Marketing); Lacoste Travel Retail Director Asia Pacific Erin Lillis (Vice President Commercial); Worldconnect Skross Managing Partner Sam Gerber (Vice President Corporate and Member Services); and Imperial Brands Head of Corporate and Legal Affairs – Global Duty Free & Export Loukia Alepochoriti (Vice President Conference and Research).
TFWA said it will invite its Management Committee to elect a new President with a one-year mandate during the upcoming meeting in December.
The association stated that members of the Management Committee who would like to stand for election must inform the TFWA Election Committee of their intentions by the day prior to the meeting.
Candidates from outside the Management Committee are requested to submit their candidacy no later than Tuesday 15 November by recorded mail to the TFWA Election Committee, Tax Free World Association, 23-25 rue de Berri, 75008 Paris, France.
Gerber will be among the candidates, after he announced today that he is running for the TFWA presidency.
TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen, who will stand down from his position in December, said: “I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all the elected Management Committee and Board members. The new Board – composed of highly experienced experts in their respective fields – will not only help us make the most of the new opportunities that come our way as an industry, but also rise to any challenges we may face.
