FRANCE. With preparations for this year’s TFWA World Exhibition 2008 in Cannes well under way, organiser TFWA has announced that the keynote speaker at the opening conference on Monday 27 October will be The UB Group Chairman Dr Vijay Mallya.
Dr Mallya heads one of India’s largest conglomerates, with diverse interests in aviation, brewing, distilling, engineering, information technology and real estate. He will present his perspective on this year’s conference theme “˜Challenge the Future’, drawing on his experience of international commerce, manufacturing and the airline business, focusing on innovation, brand development and how travel retail will evolve under the influence of the rapidly developing Indian economy.
The UB Group includes United Breweries, the largest brewing company in India, United Sprits, the world’s second biggest drinks group, and Kingfisher Airlines – which offers more flights than any other airline network in India. Dr Mallya is also the joint owner, with Dutch entrepreneur Michiel Mol, of the Force India Formula One Racing Team.
The 2008 TFWA World Exhibition will be staged from Monday 27 to Friday 31 October in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in the French city of Cannes.
