TFWA World Exhibition 2012 set for record showing

INTERNATIONAL. The TFWA World Exhibition will present a record number of brands at this year’s event, which takes place at the Palais de Festivals in Cannes from 21-26 October.

A total of 462 exhibiting companies will be in attendance, all suppliers of premium and luxury products to global duty free and travel retail outlets. Most of them will have several international brands on their stand.

For the first time, the combined exhibition space has topped 21,000sq m. This includes the new Beach Village where Philip Morris International will inaugurate a large exhibition space together with a number of other exhibitors. The Beach Village will also be host to the new indoor Beach Restaurant, which replaces the former Bay Restaurant, with a terrace facing the sea.

The creation of the Beach Village and the careful utilisation of all available space are still not sufficient to satisfy the increasing demands for exhibiting space, TFWA said, which means that some companies have had to remain on the waiting list.

The 2012 event features 462 exhibiting companies, of which 38 are new

There will be 38 new exhibitors present, some of them companies returning after an absence, including Amore Pacific, Elizabeth Arden, By Terry and Victoria’s Secret in fragrances & cosmetics; Hugo Boss, Malo, Mandarina Duck and Samsonite in fashion, luggage and accessories; Bodegas Osborne, Botran Rum and Chateau Le Puy in wine & spirits; and Glam Rock in jewellery & watches.

The on-site Business Centre has been refurbished with new meeting rooms and the TFWA Members’ Lounge has also been redesigned to make it more comfortable and convenient.

New interactive navigator touch screens will be set up to help participants find their way around the exhibition. This system was trialed at the TFWA Asia Pacific in May and proved very popular, according to TFWA.

Pre-registration for TFWA World Exhibition 2012 will remain open at www.tfwa.com until 12 September.
