The Belgian unveils chocolate innovations at Singapore fair

BELGIUM. Chocolate brand The Belgian launched four new products at the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore, including a number of gifting options.

The first new product, the Chocolate Donuts, is named after the real sugar donuts due to their shape. They have a hazelnut filling, a milk chocolate base and a white chocolate topping. These White Chocolate Donuts are the first in a range called the Chocolate Donut Collection. White Chocolate Donuts are presented in a premium gift box of 200g containing 18 pieces.

The second new line, Crème Brûlée Pralines, has a milk chocolate cover and a crème brûlée filling, named after the French vanilla dessert with caramelised sugar. A gift box of 200g contains 16 pralines.

The new Crocolates product combines the French word “˜croquant’, which means crispy, and ‘chocolates’. These crispy chocolate disks contain popped rice, and are available in a gift box of 200g with 36 Crocolates.

Besides these three new gift boxes, The Belgian has developed a Mini-Bars multi-pack. The plain milk and dark chocolate Mini-Bars are packed respectively in a blue and red The Belgian ribbon wrap. The Mini-Bars each weigh 15g and are offered in a transparent multi-pack of eight single packed Mini-Bars weighing a total of 120g.

The Belgian Chocolate Group says it seeks originality when launching new products. “Our customers and consumers are becoming more demanding. They want new and exciting products every year,” explains The Belgian Chocolate Group Head of the R&D Department Herman Bleuzé.
