US. The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has appointed Dave Smith as Senior Vice President of New Business Development. He reports directly to The Estée Lauder Companies Executive Vice President Strategy, New Business Development and Integration Andrew Ross.
Smith replaces Shana Randhava who has taken on an expanded role leading New Incubation Ventures. Randhava will continue to report to Ross for the new role, which is a new capability for The Estée Lauder Companies.
Smith has a proven track record of successfully driving mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and has contributed to long-term growth and value creation across a number of different industries. His speciality includes identifying and evaluating target companies, building and managing relationships, and developing strategic business. He also has extensive experience in creative deal structuring, negotiations and portfolio management.
He was most recently Head of Corporate Venture Capital and Director of M&A at leading applied science innovator Corning Incorporated. In this role, Smith was responsible for leading an interdisciplinary team which executed M&A transactions and strategic investments.
Prior to his role at Corning Incorporated, Smith was eBay Inc’s Senior M&A Director, where he helped develop eBay Inc’s user experience, machine learning and logistical capabilities. He also spent more than ten years honing his skills in investment banking, management and corporate strategy in a number of Wall Street firms, including serving as Managing Director at BNY Mellon.
