Olivier Bottrie: salutes Stefan Herzog’s contribution and welcomes Javier Simon to key new post |
INTERNATIONAL. The Estée Lauder Companies has named Javier Simon as Vice President/General Manager, Travel Retailing Asia Pacific, effective 1 July. He moves to the new post from his role as General Manager of the group’s Swiss affiliate.
He replaces Stefan Herzog, who has led the group’s Asia Pacific travel retail arm for the past eight years. Herzog has been promoted to General Manager of the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent affiliate for the company and will take up his new position on 1 July.
In a statement today, President Travel Retailing Worldwide Olivier Bottrie said: “During his time as VP/General Manager of our Asia Pacific Travel Retailing Division Stefan has built a solid team and forged strong relationships with our retail partners in the region. Stefan’s many accomplishments during his tenure speak for themselves and his in-depth knowledge of the Asia/Pacific market has allowed The Estée Lauder Companies to develop rapidly as the company to watch in the Travel Retailing APAC region.
“I would like to thank Stefan for his strong leadership and commitment during his tenure with Travel Retailing and wish him and his family happiness and success for the future.”
Bottrie welcomed Simon’s appointment, and noted: “Javier brings with him a time-tested knowledge of the travel retail industry and The Estée Lauder Companies. He joined us in 1999, as the Regional Director for the Estée Lauder brand in Travel Retailing Americas, after which he was our VP/General Manager in Travel Retailing Americas from 2001 to 2006.”
