The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has appointed Meridith Webster as Executive Vice President Global Communications and Public Affairs, effective 17 May.
She jointly reports to Executive Chairman William P. Lauder and President and Chief Executive Officer Fabrizio Freda.
Webster has also been named to join the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
Webster succeeds Alexandra Trower as Head of Global Communications and Maria Cristina Gonzáles Noguera as Head of Global Public Affairs. Her appointment follows the news of González Noguera’s departure from ELC and Trower’s retirement in June after a stellar career at the company.
González Noguera has decided to leave the company following her appointment as EVP and Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer at Puerto Rico-based global financial services company, Popular Inc.
In her new role, Webster will lead ELC’s global communications and public affairs operations to advance its strategic goals, protect global corporate reputation and drive value for key stakeholders. She will also serve as a strategic advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors and to the Lauder Family.
“Our world-class Global Communications and Public Affairs teams have consistently advanced ahead of the curve against the backdrop of an increasingly complex and rapidly-changing global landscape,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Fabrizio Freda.
“Meridith’s appointment will continue to enable and enhance our delivery of thoughtful, effective communications to our valued global stakeholders as she leads these talented teams to new heights.”
Executive Chairman William P. Lauder added, “Meridith’s deep public and private sector experience, coupled with her core values and leadership style, make her uniquely suited to step into this role now.
“I am so proud of the incredible work of our Global Communications and Public Affairs teams, and I know they will be in great hands under Meridith’s leadership as she joins our ELC family.”
