The Estée Lauder Companies names Umair Ansari as Vice President and General Manager, Travel Retail EMA

The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed Umair Ansari as Vice President and General Manager, Travel Retail Europe, Middle East and Africa (TR EMA), effective from 1 January. He will be based at the company’s London office.

In this role, Ansari will be responsible for driving growth and profitability within the travel retail business across Europe, Middle East and Africa. The company said he would “champion and guide our portfolio of brands to capture and capitalise on the return of travel in the region and work closely with our retailers to expand distribution and develop the online channel for the travelling consumer in TR EMA.”

Since 2019, Ansari has led Travel Retail’s Middle East, Africa and India hub out of Dubai. He joined The Estée Lauder Companies in 2004, holding positions of increasing responsibility with Global Supply Chain and Global Business Planning. In 2011, he assumed the role of Vice President, Program Management Team (PMT), overseeing the enterprise-wide transformation and cost efficiency portfolio.

In March 2015, he joined Travel Retail as Vice President, Strategy and Business Development. In 2017, he was appointed Vice President / General Manager, Travel Retail Worldwide for Aramis and Designer Fragrances, Origins, Smashbox, GLAMGLOW and BECCA. In that role, the company stated, Ansari demonstrated “a strategic and collaborative commercial approach as he managed his brand portfolio’s varying category focuses, consumer targets and distribution maturity”.
