UK. Harrods has opened a 1,700sq ft Fine Watch Room in the departures lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2 (named “˜The Queen’s Terminal’), which officially opened on 4 June. The store is described as a completely different concept from the retailer’s other airport boutiques, and is the first time The Fine Watch Room has been extended outside Harrods’ Knightsbridge flagship.

The “contemporary and masculine space” aims to reflect the luxurious surroundings of the Fine Watch Room at Harrods, which opened in late 2011. It features black granite entrances, mosaic limestone pathways with golden accents and a parquet floor, along with cylindrical glass tanks, leather furniture, contemporary lighting and crystal chandeliers.
The unusual egg-shaped glass exterior is accented with floor-to-ceiling display cases with black and gold metallic finishes. A series of low-level display cabinets have been installed throughout the room, alongside full-height displays for key, anchor brands. There are also private consultation areas with half-height screens and integrated displays.

Over 30 brands are available, including Montblanc, Longines, Rado, Baume & Mercier, Tag Heuer, Zenith, Maurice Lacroix, Frederic Constant, Omega, Tudor (from September), Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Chanel, Hublot and Chopard.
“Curated by Harrods’ fine watch buying team, Terminal 2’s fine watch selection will reflect the exceptional edit of timepieces that can be found within The Fine Watch Room at Harrods, ensuring that the premium product available caters to each and every taste and price point,” the company noted.
