The Lakes Distillery’s channel-exclusive Boundless single malt takes flight with Avolta at key UK airports

UK. The Lakes Distillery’s travel retail-exclusive Boundless single malt has secured listings with Avolta, available starting today (1 July) at key UK airports for £99.99 (US$138).

Created for the flavour-forward traveller, Boundless delivers elevated whisky craftsmanship to global travel retail

Since its initial release in September, and its debut at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last year, the whisky has achieved listings with prominent travel retailers across the UK and global markets.

Boundless has gained early recognition, winning Gold at this year’s International Spirits Challenge and Silver (90 points) at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2025.

The collaboration with Avolta supports The Lakes Distillery’s global growth ambitions, positioning Boundless as a permanent offering in global travel retail.

The distillery draws on its strong position in the English and new world whisky categories to tap into growing demand for innovative offerings in the channel.

Marking a first for The Lakes Distillery, Boundless is crafted exclusively from high-quality first-fill oloroso casks to influence the whisky’s maturation.

Crafted using the élevage technique, the whisky reveals notes of orange oil and dried fruits from European oak, combined with delicate wood spice, toasted oak and subtle vanilla notes from American oak.

The Lakes Distillery Head of International Sales Karl Thogersen said, “At The Lakes we aim to push boundaries with flavour creation, and Boundless is a perfect example of this.

“We wanted to create something bold and exciting exclusively for the global travel retail channel and for its consumers, and we hope that this new partnership with Avolta will allow us to reach an even broader audience within this space.”

The Moodie Davitt Report recently announced the results of the inaugural TREX Awards. “Differentiation is key to creating real value in and consumer curiosity about travel retail. True TREXs do that, offering products of real value that by definition cannot be procured elsewhere,” said The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie. Nominations for the second TREX Awards will be called for later this year.
