UAE. The Macallan and Le Clos have partnered to release the one-of-a-kind Anecdotes of Ages Collection: Journey to Market whisky at Dubai International Airport.

With only one bottle available globally, the Anecdotes of Ages Collection: Journey to Market is one of the rarest whiskies in the world.

It is showcased in a special window display at The Macallan boutique by Le Clos at Terminal 3 DXB.

The display also showcases the original 13 bottles from The Macallan Anecdotes of Ages Collection, which is the result of an art and whisky collaboration with acclaimed British pop artist Sir Peter Blake.

The collection comprises 13 one-of-a-kind bottles of 1967 whisky, with each bottle featuring an original art collage by Blake.

Each bottle’s individual design tells different stories of The Macallan’s history, community and evokes the natural landscapes of The Macallan Estate.

Tales from The Macallan archives: The collection features 13 original label designs by British pop artist Sir Peter Blake. It is now available in The Macallan by Le Clos boutique at DXB Terminal 3.

The Anecdotes of Ages: Journey to Market expression is an exceptional 1967 whisky that tells the story of The Macallan’s journey around the world as its reputation grew as a distinguished whisky house.

The bottle is hand-blown with an oak stopper and features one of Blake’s original collages on the label which portrays the imagery of the industrial age. The collage pays tribute to the arrival of modern technology to The Macallan distillery in 1920, when proprietor Janet Harbinson purchased a 3.5 tonne steam wagon – which was christened the ‘Iron Horse’.

The Iron hose helped accelerate The Macallan’s logistical capacities, enabling regular deliveries from its Easter Elchies Estate in Speyside to the Dandeleith Station, with trains delivering its products to Aberdeen, London, Glasgow and to the New World.

The rare bottling is presented in a handcrafted European oak case with thumbnail photography that reveals Sir Peter Blake’s journey with The Macallan. The bottling is accompanied by a leather-bound book that showcases the label artworks of all 13 bottles — and their corresponding stories — from the Anecdotes of Ages line. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity.

“The Anecdotes of Ages collection has proven to be a huge hit with afficionados of The Macallan, the latest in a long line of successful collaborations with the icon Sir Peter Blake,” commented Edrington Global Travel Retail Regional Managing Director Jeremy Speirs. “We’re proud to display one of the original bottles at our Dubai Boutique where it will act as a real draw for shoppers, bringing to life part of The Macallan’s rich heritage.”

The Macallan by Le Clos General Manager Ben Odgers added, “Anecdotes of Ages Collection: Journey to Market, showcased in The Macallan Boutique, makes a tremendous addition to our portfolio. This exclusive bottle provides our customers with access to a rare jewel and piece of history, and we have already received a huge amount of interest from collectors around the world. We’re constantly working with The Macallan to ensure we have unprecedented access to their portfolio and we look forward to continuing our very successful partnership.”
