INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Davitt Report is proud to announce the launch of the next-generation model in print & digital publishing – Moodie Davitt Interactive.
The initiative, to be unveiled in February, follows the outstanding success of The Moodie Davitt Report Digital Print Edition – travel retail’s first online version of a print magazine – which was launched in 2007.
Moodie Davitt Interactive builds on that market-leading position by making the digital version not just an online replica of the print edition but one that includes dynamic elements such as video and podcasts.
“Yesterday’s innovation is potentially tomorrow’s dinosaur. We have to constantly reinvent our offer.” – Martin Moodie
Excitingly, advertisers will be able to offer alternative ads (at no extra cost) for Print and Interactive – for example by featuring the interactive, dynamic advertising that has become such a feature of The Moodie Davitt e-Zine, all linked to the advertiser’s URL. The Moodie Davitt e-Zine is travel retail’s fastest-growing title, underlining the growing popularity of digital media – again pioneered by The Moodie Davitt Report, in 2002.
The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie said: “As with any publisher – and indeed with any travel retail player – yesterday’s innovation is potentially tomorrow’s dinosaur. We have to constantly reinvent our offer and ensure that our readers are engaged and our brand partners’ investment is justified.
“Moodie Davitt Interactive is not just an online version of print – a technology that we pioneered – but a genuine breakthrough in which the digital version includes additional, dynamic content and advertising. For any advertiser torn between supporting print or digital media, we’re eliminating the need to make a decision – they can have the best of both worlds.
“Moodie Davitt Interactive will make its debut with a report on the Korean and Chinese markets in our February edition. For example. the Interactive version will showcase, in video and audio, the extraordinary success Korean travel retailers have had in engaging young Chinese consumers through Hallyu (Korean wave) marketing.”
To support this initiative, and as reported, The Moodie Davitt Report has appointed Ben Sillitoe as Managing Editor and London Bureau Chief, while Martin Moodie sets up our new Asia Pacific Bureau based in Hong Kong. “We are investing in people, places and products,” said Moodie, who added that another major new project will be launched next month.
